China Glaze - Loves & Hates

I love China Glaze polishes. It's one of my favourite brands :) The application, for most of the polishes I've tried (give or take a couple) is very smooth and even, and doesn't bubble for the most part. Except for this one yellow I bought, which was absolutely horrible! I purchased this yellow because the colour was gorgeous & looked like sunshine :), and I wanted to try out the formula.

As you all know, it's very hard to find a good yellow nail polish with a good formula. The program I am in deals mainly with the printing industry, and I work with a lot of pigments, with yellow being the hardest pigment to work with.

Anyways, the yellow I purchased was Happy Go Lucky. I love the colour, but it bubbled so much. :( I'm actually really disappointed lol

This shows you how badly it bubbled, considering this was the finger that had the least bubbling hahaha D:

So overall, this polish sucked, and made me sad. I'm still on the search to find a nice yellow formula!
Does anybody know of any nice yellows that have a good forumla??

This colour is one of my favourite polishes ever. It's called Peachy Keen.

It's the perfect balance between a pink & yellow peach colour, unlike other peach polishes that tend to lean towards one or the other. There's not too much pink or yellow, and it's perfect for spring & summer! The application was amazing too, and it didn't bubble at all (unlike Happy Go Lucky)

I'm sorry for the poor quality photos, I couldn't find my memory card for my DSLR the week I photographed these.

More CG & other swatches coming soon!:)

Rainy Day Haul

>> July 28, 2010

So today was filled with lots of thunder & lightning, and there was a storm watch for my area. I decided to go out shopping early to try and beat the storm, but it didn't really end up raining that much at all! There was non stop thunder since about 11am-4pm, and it only started raining a bit around 4. So I got lucky :)

Anyways, I went to Walmart to try and find more Wet n Wild polishes, and was so disappointed - there was only one shade left! But it was one I was looking for, so that made me a little happier heh.

I picked up some stuff at Sally's too, as I wanted to take advantage of their July sales before the month ended! - Buy 2 Finger Paints, get 1 free & $3 off Face Secrets brushes! Woot!

Wet n Wild - Blue Moon, Finger Paints - Silver Sculpture, Paper Mache, & Art Lofty Toffee, Sally Girl - unnamed pale yellow polish :s, Rimmel - Steel Grey

This is actually my very first Finger Paints purchase, I'm excited to try them!

NYC Blushable Creme Stick - Big Apple Blush, Pucker Ups in Raspberry ;), Face Secrets - Bronzer Brush & Eye Duo

I love those $0.99 Pucker Ups Sally's sells. They smell so good! I bought a watermelon one for my mom also, and I have a coconut & pomegranate from another day. mmmm

& I had to get another one of the NYC Blushable Creme Sticks, I love those things! I'm so disappointed I missed the limited colours though! Those look so pretty! :'(

Wet n Wild - Wild Shine Polish

>> July 26, 2010

I went to Walmart a couple of weeks ago to pick up shampoo, when I saw a huge end display of Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail polish. I used to use Wet n Wild polish all the time when I was younger, because it was cheap, and the shades were really nice (I didn't really care too much about higher end polishes back then hehe). I hadn't used this brand for yeaaaars before I picked up these polishes!

Walmart currently has all their Wet n Wild Wild Shine polishes on for $0.99 each - which is an amazing price!

So I picked up 6 different shades.

I tried one for the first time today, and I must say I'm really impressed with it!
The application was really smooth, the polish didn't bubble at all, and I only had to use 2 coats to achieve the same colour as the bottle! I'm going to go back to Walmart and pick up a few more of these later this week! ;)

Dreamy Poppy - 2 coats - this is really close to how the polish looks on my nails. It's a tiny bit darker in real life - a summery bright pink!

For $0.99, these polishes are amazing!

I'll have swatches of the other colours once I decide to try them out in the near future!

Trans Design Haul - China Glaze & OPI

>> July 25, 2010

Woo! First blog post :)
I was debating whether or not I should start a blog for a while now (doesn't everybody debate this?)

This is my first haul from Trans Design. The prices are very affordable, and the shipping isn't too mad. Mind you, I live in Canada, which means shipping from just about anywhere is higher than if I lived in the US.
Shipping for everything I ordered came to &23.76, which seems pretty high, but when calculated out, I actually saved quite a bit - if I had purchased these from Sally's, it would have cost me a lot more.

China Glaze are $2.99 each
OPI are $5.24 each - Trans Design is liquidating all their OPI though, so get it while you can!
Color Club are $2.49 each

Anyway, on to what I purchased!

Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Caribbean Blue, Towel Boy Toy, Four Leaf Clover, Turned Up Turquoise, Love 'Em/Leave 'Em, Who Are You Wearing?, Pucci-Licious, Jade Is The New Black

The Ten Man, Ruby Pumps, Lap of Luxury, Peachy Keen, Sun Worshiper, Happy Go Lucky, Innocence, Re-Fresh Mint

OPI Drip Dry
OPI Avoplex Cleanser - free gift

Everything came very nicely packaged, with lots of foam beans & the polishes were packed in China Glaze boxes. I was very pleased with the delivery!

I will have swatches of these colours in later posts, I already have a few photographed! :)
